Our Project

Morning Star Nursery and School

Our Work So Far

Morning Star Nursery is a small nursery school run by pastor, Henry Malata, and his team of teachers. The nursery is based 20km outside of Mangochi by Lake Malawi. Henry and his team began by renting a disused property with a small handful of children and slowly built up its numbers of both children and teachers.

The link between CSM and Morning Star Nursery began when Charlie met Maggie Malata, a staff member of a local orphanage, and was invited for a walk through the community. Maggie showed Charlie the work that Henry, her husband, was trying to do without the need for any thanks which inspired Charlie to help in any way we could. This led to Changing Stars Malawi –

  • Providing funds to build a campus fence to protect children.
  • Building of a toilet block.
  • Concreting of floors to create learning spaces.
  • Painting of the classrooms to encourage learning.
  • Supply of teaching resources.

The nursery currently has 50 children attending and CSM will continue to support as this nursery grows.
