Maize prices fluctuate hugely across the year so we purchase and distribute the maize when the price is cheapest so that we can buy the most possible maize and share out any extra that we can afford. We also buy all the material for the uniform ourselves then equally share out the workload to many local tailors to fairly spread out the money that we are bringing into the community.
We keep a close eye on all our sponsored children receiving a report every term that not only tells us about their academic performance but their attendance too. Monitoring attendance helps us to identify if a child or their family may be struggling which is always followed up with check ins by our child protection group within the community.
We try to communicate as much information with the sponsors about their child but we are sure you will appreciate it is a lot of work to monitor all 226 children. This is where our strong relationships with the headteachers at the schools we work with is essential because they will notify us on the day if they find there are any issues with any sponsored children.
If you would like to sponsor a child then please check out our shop section where you can choose to sponsor a child’s education for the year.
